OUR STORY

Born from a passion and mutual love of wine the doors of La Cave de Bruno flung open at the beginning of 2014.

It all started when Lou and Bruno hit the french countryside roads to celebrate Lou's 40th. One rainy day they stopped at a small local vineyard, Domaine Dionysos, in the Rhône Valley, where they met the very talented Benjamin, having tasted his exceptional wines they knew immediately that they had to bring them back to the UK to share with friends and family. After a few wines and a moment of madness the decision was made and so it all began!

Whilst Bruno eagerly researched and spoke with 100's of different winemakers building up their initial range, Lou started a steep learning curve of how to import wines directly, hunting for a premises, landlords, taxes and builders!

The result is a friendly and welcoming neighbourhood wine merchants, selling wines which are imported directly from small vineyards in France. Lou and Bruno are continuously sourcing new references whilst very much maintaining their relationship with their existing and established winemakers.  Their imported range also includes champagne, a wide selection of cremants, eau-de-vie, armagnac, cognac and calvados.

You can enjoy wines by the glass on the outdoor terrace, or at one of the inside tables, it's a lovely place to sit and soak up the atmosphere of your own little corner of France!

"By importing directly from small and individual winemakers, straight to our front door in East Dulwich, we can give our customers the chance to experience wines that are not widely available anywhere else in the UK.”

"We are fully committed to sourcing the best value wines we can and wouldn't dream of selling anything we don't drink and enjoy ourselves!"
